Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer
Areas Covered: Swindon, Reading, Gloucester, Bristol
Package:
- up to £45,000
- 40-hour working week
- Paid travel from door to door
- 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

We’re looking to bring on board a skilled Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer to support our operations across the South West region.
Our company has built a strong reputation over many years within the building services sector, with a focus on commercial refrigeration and catering environments. This opportunity would suit someone who values quality workmanship, takes a professional approach with clients, and prefers working within a stable, well-established business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of commercial refrigeration and AC systems (including cold rooms, ice machines, bottle coolers, display fridges, VRV/VRF systems, and split units)
- Identifying faults and implementing effective repairs
- Delivering a high level of customer service and maintaining positive client relationships
- Working in line with health & safety standards and company procedures
- Taking part in an on-call rota and attending breakdowns when required
- Logging work activity using a company-issued device (no tracking software)
- Occasional visits to the depot for parts collection, van restocking, or equipment handling
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Typical schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm (including 1-hour break)
- Travel time fully paid from home to job and back
On-Call Duties:
- 1 weekday per week
- 1 full weekend in every 5
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary up to £45,000 depending on experience

What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in refrigeration and/or air conditioning service work
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident communication skills with a customer-focused approach
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Experience working on commercial sites such as retail or hospitality
- Additional manufacturer training or specialist certifications
- Electrical qualifications
